Stamp duty abolished

Stamp duty abolished

Interlease clients can now look forward to reduced costs with the abolition of duty payable* on equipment leases, rentals and hire purchase agreements in Australian states and territories starting in 2007.

Clients with existing and new agreements will cease to pay duty from the nominated date in their state (see table below). This will automatically be applied to your agreement with no action required on your part.

*The abolition of the duty is the result of an agreement between the states and territories and the federal government where, in return for receiving GST revenue, a range of state taxes and duties have been discontinued.
