Plain sailing into 2008

Interlease-sponsored dinghy sailor Sarah Blanck is in full preparation for the Beijing Olympics, taking out 4th place in the Sail Auckland Regatta in early March and placed 5th at the 2008 World Championships.

Sarah has had a fine start to the year, taking 1st Place honours at the Sail Melbourne and Laser Asia Pacific Championships at Royal Brighton, and in the Sydney International Regatta, proving she is in fine form in the lead-up to the Olympics.

Sarah, who will represent Australia in the Laser Radial class at the Beijing Olympics, says the Auckland meet was testing.

“It was a challenging regatta, with 12 races held over the four days. But by the end I pulled myself up the ranks to finish 4th overall. I was happy with this. It also gave me a few things I needed to focus on in my training before the Worlds.”
